We all carry within us an internal voice that critiques, judges, and sometimes even berates us. This voice—often referred to as the "Inner Critic"—develops over time, shaped by past experiences, societal expectations, and internalised beliefs. While its intention may have originally been to protect us from failure or rejection, it often manifests as self-doubt, fear, and limiting beliefs that hold us back from growth and self-compassion.
Rather than suppressing or battling the Inner Critic, a holistic approach invites us to acknowledge and understand this voice with kindness. When we approach it with curiosity rather than resistance, we gain the opportunity to transform our relationship with it, cultivating self-awareness, resilience, and inner peace.
